Im looking at finally doing a EBR/Mk14 build and here is the projective build so far:
Sprinfield Squad Rifle Sage Mod 1 - Dark Earth SEI Gas Lock SEI Gas Plug SEI Extended Bolt Release Sadlack NM Spring Guide Sadlack Extended Mag Release FCG/Trigger - Ted Brown Optics Larue LT608 Talley Tactcal Rings - Dark Earth Leupold LR/T 3.5-10x40 M2 TMR - Dark Earth Right now im looking into what the factory SA 18.5" Barrel will shoot(MOA), and if changing out to a SEI barrel would be somdthing do include. I will also have the piston and cylinder reworked. Let me know the thoughts and inputs. When i was looking at the SEI barrel its listed as a standard weight, but if i remember right the NSW Mk14 had a medium barrel. Im i right their and can i have a medium barrel from SEI or other that performs well. USNRigger |

Spring Inc barrels are pretty good in their own right, My BUSH rifle has been rebarrelled twice by them because I shot them out.
I don't know if SEI can or will rebarrel a new Spring Inc action because they changed the way they mount barrels. If you want an SEI barrel, contact them first and ask or look for a used, older, Spring Inc rifle. |

Good info thanks for the heads up. I will give SEI a call and see what they say. If i do look for a older springfield is their a way to tell if its the older style, what year did they start doing this new way? Would a fulton armory receiver be a better way to go?
Give me some ideas on base guns as i guess i can use any 22" rilfe and have it rebarred by SEI to 18" USNRigger |
| IMHO, if you have or are going to get a Springfield M1A you might as well use the barrel rather than spending extra money to put a new barrel on an already new rifle. Once you get it built, if you don't think the factory barrel is up to par then you could always have a SEI barrel installed but it still seems like a waste of money to me. |

Well that is the plan. Im not looking to change out the barrel of the factory springer inc. unless it does not perform to my needs or liking. I mainly just want to make sure that if i do need to change it out that SEI can fit a barrel to a new Springer Receiver. I dont want to learn after the fact that the new Springfields cant be fitted with SEI barrels. I will be happy with 1moa or less out of the Springfield in the Sage stock. Im also lookiong for a good used M1A for this project as well.

Who is currently making SEI barrels, in house?
I thought they were criterion at one point and just bought an 18" Cri barrel. Are you planning on doing this yourself or having a tool-head work it on for you? It wasn't as easy as an FAL barrel to put on, but then again, I didn't have to deal with a stuck gas block either so I guess it was equal. I like SEI's gas lock, and the Sadlak mag release, but I didn't think the gas plug was any different, now a Schuster is a different story. Maybe by the time you're ready to do your build SEI will have their extended bolt releases avail. (been waiting since August)

SEI is listing them on their website. 1:10 ROH Chrome Moly, Chrome Lined, LR118 chamber. 315.00 + Install P/N is 2027. I tried calling SEI but no one picked up, so I sent email as well. I like the SEI mainly for the 1:10 for heavier bullets and the idea of having it M80HT(extra). Im hoping the Springfield Squad barrel gets me into the 1moa range, but i wanna know from SEI that if need be i can fit a barrel to a Springer Inc receiver. I looked at fulton armory, but hell their 18" service grade starts at $2500. Im also looking at LBR as well.
