Weighing my options (literally) for what to put my M1A Bush rifle into. It's never going to be a real distance tack driver, so I was thinking along the lines of a Eotech XR308 and VMX-3T magnifier setup for something with midrange and CQB potential.

I've heard people keep complaining that the Troy MCS adds a lot of weight to the M1A compared to the fiberglass stock. On the other hand, the Sage EBR Mod1 seems to add the same amount of weight. What am I missing here?

Here is the original Mod 1, the MCS will be heavier once you add the same pistol grip, extension tube and butt stock.
I believe the current Mod 1 is a little lighter than the original. It is easier to mount optics on the TROY, but you give up
the accuracy inherent with the op rod guide block and barrel whip screw utilized on the SAGE EBR chassis system.
I suggest the Mod 1 with 1-4, 1-6 optic mounted low, possibly with a stripper clip rail mount.

Please take a look at those two threads. They discuss about anti-gun, POS, Chicago puppet, Jody Weis aka J-Fled being employed there (fired later) and Dale Monroe, one of the snipers at the Ruby Ridge Incident now working there. If it was me, I would not buy shit from Troy.

BTW, the standard M14ALCS/CV is lighter than any Mod 1.

Yes, I once owned a couple TROY MCS stocks.
