How do you that use them like them? Are you using the .308 BDC reticle version and will a 5.56 BDC reticle work? I am thinking of putting one on mine but I don't particularly care for the 552 and am looking at other model options. Would also like to magnify it.
Thanks |

Very happy with mine. A bit heavy but I don't hump anymore... Not the 308 w/ BDC, would also rather have a smaller EOTech but it was what I had. http://i1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd463/Gtuner/DSCN2006.jpg It looks good. I was thinking the larger would look better because it is such a large rifle but maybe you're right and a smaller would be better. My main concern is I would like one with a BDC and magnifier but the 308 version is not very magnifier friendly with the buttons at the back so I wonder how well a 5.56 BDC would work on a .308 |

Don't bother with the .308 BDC version. Just get the 1 moa dot or whatever. BDC version probably works fine on the M240, but it's just not useful enough on a .30 cal rifle to justify it.
I'll be putting mine on an RPD, eventually. I expect it'll be so far off that I'll ditch it soon after too Come to think of it....maybe I should save it for a PKM. Hmmm.....

Meh. I'll stick with an Eotech of some sort. I prefer the larger FOV. Now, if they could do a regular reticle (since I've pretty much determined that BDC reticles aren't for me - I use different ammunition at different times, and I can't afford a BDC scope for every combination...) along with a larger exit image, that'd be a cool thing. Oh, and keep it under an ounce, about the size of a Doctor optic, and under a hundred bucks.

I'm glad to see this turned into a "bash the eotech" thread ![]() I apologize for bashing the eotech, maybe you've had much better luck with them then the others I've seen run them. So on that note if this is just a square range rifle then yeah an eotech will be a lot better than an ncstar or other Chinese knock off scope. Personally I'm trying to decide which short dot to drop on mine. |

I picked up an ACOG from Euro optics with a 308 BDC and am very happy with it...not bashing the eotech but I do like the magnification ability and the ACOG is pretty easy to use. |

Personally I'm trying to decide which short dot to drop on mine. I know that the preferred red dot on Arfcom is aimpoint but I have owned a few Eotechs and other than the battery life sucking, they have been a solid optic. I recently tried an Aimpoint pro and I really like it but I feel like the Eotech is much faster for target acquisition. If Eotech could make their batteries life last longer I think they would have a great optic. |
| Thanks everyone for the responses, I've now opened up to all optics even a 1-4x. I like the option on EO's to be non magnified and then also using a magnifier for longer shots and acquisitions. While here, what was originally used on FALs as an optic in battle? |
