Is storing them on end (in PC) as pictured below a no no?  In the past I've had them laying flat seperate from the PC. Backers aren't in yet and I know those will bunch if stored in this fashion

Thanks!

It won't matter. Only thing you need to worry about is handling them roughly.

Exactly how i store mine, up right and lean them against my closet wall. The ceramic plates are more durable than people often portray them to be, ive seen them fall off tables onto concrete and nothing happens.

In response to the soft armor bunching up, that is fine also, its perfectly fine to store Kevlar or other soft armor bunched or bent, that wont damage the armor. What does damage the armor is repeatedly changing the shape of the armor and constantly bending it. Its similar to a spring in a magazine, you can store a spring compressed or uncompressed, either will no damage the spring, what does damage the spring is the transition from one state to the other. So you're actually better off leaving the armor in your carrier bunched up than taking the armor out and laying it flat for storage, then putting it back in when you use the armor like some people think they have to do, that transition will wear out your soft armor much faster than leaving it alone.
