| Should be easy one for someone here. Why do ads for some machine guns specify C&R? |
Yes! Nothing like having a tommy gun delivered to your door. Problem is, C&Rs are typically even higher prices than regular non-C&R MGs |
You cannot transfer an MG to yourself -- BATFE's stance is that if you already own it, no transfer can take place. If you have a corporation which holds a C&R FFL, the corporation can purchase a C&R MG (and pay the $200 transfer tax), and then your corporation can transfer it to you (after paying another $200 tax). But why pay double the tax? Why not just buy it and have it transferred directly to you? |
Let me restate this. A C&R holder can have a C&R MG transfered from an out of state dealer (form3) to his home (form4 tax paid)? IE No in state transfer is required. |
Yup. You confused me the first time -- while BATFE calls the seller the "transferor" and the buyer the "transferee," the seller is generally the party who is said to be "transferring" the NFA item because the paperwork is started by the seller and processed by BATFE in his name.
