Hello, I'm considering the apex model edge pro knife sharpening system. Click here to see it I've heard that it's a good setup, but are there other sharpeners out there that are better and/or cheaper for the novice knife sharpener? Anything I need to know about the edge pro sharpeners? Thanks! PS No really, I tried to do a search before posting this but I didn't find anything.

The EdgePro is, IMHO, the best sharpening system there is. It is expensive, but once you get the hang of it you can do almost any kind of blade and get the bevels perfect each time. Make sure you get a good selection of stones with it. I did not look at your link, but in the past, you had to purchase a few additional stones, polishing paper, etc., to get some of the things you need. |
I agree. An economical option would be the spyderco Sharpmaker, however, if you spend extra on the diamond stones, you're approaching the cost of the edgepro. |
+1 get the complete kit. Their customer service is 2nd to none, and Ben is truly aces. |
