EDC-2 Multitool. Anyone own one of these or have experience with one? I'm thinking about picking one up for, well, EDC.

I like it but prefer the Leathermen MUT though.

That looks like it'd be more comparable to the Multitasker Series 3 and that's a little too bulky for what I'm looking for.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the EDC-2 while closed? I'm curious on how thick it is.

Thanks for the replies so far!

Any more info on this?? I'm about to purchase one because it would be nice to carry and use something more than just a blade. I've came across a few situations where a screwdriver would've been nice to have.

They're well made and well executed.  Waved blades and recurves... even the sweet ass commander blade, aren't my cup of tea, but the main reason I got rid of mine, is that I feel things that try to non-traditionally combine two roles, do neither well enough.  I found myself still wanting to carry both a dedicated folder and multitool, despite having the EDC in my pocket. YMMV.

Thanks for the insight. I ordered one yesterday and it should be on it's way. I'll try it out. It doesn't have as much functions as a multitool like the Multitasker, but I don't want to carry that on me everywhere I go. I won't rely on the tiny blade of the EDC-2, so I will still carry a knife alongside it.

Be sure to share your thoughts after you get it! I'll likely be picking one up sometime soon.

Just got mine a few hours ago. I imagined the EDC-2 to be something small and compact, but it is a little bigger than I expected. The blade is a good size. Looking at it, there are a lot of machining marks and sharp edges on the pieces. Mostly aesthetics, but the locking buttons are rough to disengage. The phillips and slotted drivers work as expected. The G10 isn't rough like a brand new Emerson knife. I took some pics to compare the size to the Multitasker.

What gen is your Multitasker, that FDE is totally different?  I would have thought they'd be the same damn hue.

The difference in finish is probably since this is made in China, unlike Emerson knives.  Not that there is anything wrong with Chinese production, but it's not made in the same factory as most Emerson products.
