Happy day today ... received email confirmation that my Form 1 that was efiled on 11/7/13 was approved. They even send you a color scan of the approved form while you wait for the paper copy to arrive. Got to love the efile system the few times you can actually get on without an hours delay! But, I digress....
My question is this. On my Form 1, box h, where it asks for the "Additional Description" ... ie, I have always listed "XYZ NFA Trust, Davie, FL" since I am now the new manufacturer of the firearm. Then, once I get my stamp, I have that engraved per ATF rules. Whether it was a mistake on my part, or a glitch in the efile system, when I got back my form box h is blank. So there is no additional markings/ description noted for the lower. Am i correct that I still need to have the lower engraved with my trust and location, even though its not listed in that box? Thx for any comments. |

Thx for any comments. First, someone correct me if I'm wrong, they won't be mailing you a paper copy of the Form 1. That scan of the approved form is your copy. To answer your other question, yes, you are still required to get your lower engraved with your trust name and city, state. In the future, just leave the Form 1 "box h" blank. You are not required to put anything there even though you are going to engrave it. Some have even gotten their Form 1 kicked backed for putting their trust information there. |

Thx for any comments. Of course you do. BTW, the recommended thing is to leave 4h blank, and that is what I have done on all my SBR's. But it still must be engraved with the makers info as per regulations. |

1. You've gotten everything you're going to get. The digital stamp is your stamp, even if it doesn't meet the requirements of the law.
2. You need to get the firearm engraved as the maker of the firearm...the manufacturer already has their info engraved (unless you used an 80% lower). 3. It doesn't matter what you put in 4h, it shows up blank in the EForms system. It's not just the approved form you got back. If you'd looked at your form when it was in a Submitted status, it would've been blank as well. The examiners may be able to see the info, but it's not on the form you print. |

Thx for any comments. XYZ NFA Trust, Davie FL is on the Form 1 already under Section 3, as the applicant. Additional means "In ADDITION to all the information above that has to be engraved legally, what else are you engraving on the firearm?" But then you have lawyers reading stuff, and they can't comprehend the 2A. |
