I have a Sig MPX that I filed a form 1 for. I understand the ATF doesn't accept multi as caliber (which is what the Sig MPX is marked as) so I filed it with 9mm as caliber. Does this mean I will need to engrave 9mm on the lower along with name and city?
thanks |

Only the serial has to go on the receiver as defined, the other required markings can go on the "barrel, frame or receiver". |

Frame, receiver, barrel or pistol slide (if applicable) are the acceptable locations for everything except the SN. The only engraving requirement for the info you'll engrave is it has to be a minimum of .003" deep (only the SN has the 1/16" minimum height). |

As you say, "ATF doesn't accept multi as caliber" so Sig probably engraved the caliber on the BBL, which is GTG for you, unless you cut that portion off the BBL, then yes, you need to engrave it back on B/F/R. Name/City B/F/R yes. |
| I will check the barrel for caliber, haven't noticed if it is marked but I would assume it probably is. I do know that if it is marked it is not visible and is under the hand guards, which I would guess would be an issue as it is not visible without disassembly? |
