[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Eotech optics

What are your thoughts regarding optics for the FAL? I'm currently looking at purchasing an Eotech. The Gun Parts Guy has a very nice looking scope mount, but I'm not sure if I should stick with the DSA mount.

I've run my EOT on a Tapco cover, and have nothing bad to say about it.

Get the DSA mount, you won't be sorry. Mount the EO towards the rear, to avoid getting it dinged by brass.

I have both, I like he TAPCO better, and cost less.

The Tapco mount weighs about 1/2 as much.

Eotech on a Tapco, no complaints, very smooth and a nice topper for my 16" carbine.

It just doesnt sit right with me, I have no clue why.

I have EOTechs on a few of my AR's, to include my AR pistol, love 'em.

I had a TA01B on my FAL, and I think the lack of pinpoint precesion reticle optics, make the EOTech kinda ...............letdownish to me.

It functions well, hits within one minute of popcan at 100 meters or so.....but for some damn reason it just doesnt sit right with me.

I plan to have a dual optic setup for my FAL. EOTech with a QD screw and some type of yet-to-be-aquired illuminated scope with QD mounts. (Most likely IOR).
