Good morning!

I have been helping a friend with some suppressor purchases (advising on what to get etc).

He ended up buying 4 suppressors.

TBAC Ultra 7
SilencerCo Omega 30
SilencerCo Octane 9
SilencerCo Osprey 45

He purchased all of these items in the first part of July from www.silencerhq.com

SilencerHQ told my friend all of these items were in stock and he sent copies of the Form 3's which were dated 7/6/16.

So far, not a single silencer has been transferred to the corresponding dealer in my friend's home state.

Has anyone heard of this before? Is there any way to find out what is really going on? I fear that SilencerHQ.com has sold his suppressors to someone else and is waiting on new cans to fill his order. I can't think of any other reason why these cans have not been transferred. We are rapid rapidly approaching 6 months for a dealer to dealer transfer.

I just had two Form 3's come back in the past two months.  One was right at 3 months and the other one was purchased the same week as you're waiting on and was the last to come back.  It took about 4.5 months.  I never had one take that long.

I posted this before in another section but  I purchased two cans from SS and the first two form 3's was submitted 6/18. Resubmitted on 8/16 and resubmitted again on 10/14. Still waiting on two approved form 3's. So that would put me at 190 days so far.

Holy shit!

I sent a check to Ruben on September 7th, and on December 8th I received an email from my local dealer saying he had my Sten in hand. So the Form 3 took at least a week less than that when you factor in shipping, etc. 12 weeks isn't exactly fast, but I had no idea they were taking so long for some of you guys.

This just seems so fishy to me. 6 months for a form 3?

Have your local transfer dealer call the ATF and ask for the status of the transfer.

Alternatively your local transfer dealer can log into eForms if he has an account, and he can see if the serial numbers have shown up yet in his inventory list.

I'm still waiting on four suppressor stamps that paper Form 4's that were mailed the last week of April and the checks cashed the first week of May 2016. I suspect your friend has at least a 9 month wait from the day the checks were cashed.

It's my understanding over 100,000 requests were submitted the last month leading up to the July 14th cut-off date. That's probably equal to an entire year's average requests.

My first suppressor took 7 months.

I believe 12 weeks is the longest I've seen so far.
