| Technically, I believe the 50.64 had a Browning long-slot flash hider, not a G1. You could pull the short FH off the DSA para and install a slotted one (non-inch pattern), since they use the same thread. I don't really know for 100% sure, but the short FH may also be correct for a 50.64. |

As said above you need to go with the long flash hider. The G1 uses a special barrel with a lug (not threaded)so various device could be changed by hand. The front end is a G1 or STG58. The handgaurds will fit any rifle. If you want the bipod you need a bipod cut barrel. Good G1 barrels if you can find one is very expensive. Do you already have the para? If not call DSA and they can fix you up with swaping parts out. Be prepared for an extended wait for a non standard rifle.
If you have the rifle the cheapest route is the long flash hider. STG handgaurds and bipod. You will need a barrel if its not bipod cut. All parts are avaiable from DSA. Flashider will more than likely be in stock as is the handgaurds. Bipod will be a wait more than likely. There are some bipod barrels tht are bipod cut going for aroud 125. That was a few months ago and dont remember who had them or if they still have them |

Buy a standard para rifle and have DSA install their version of the long Browning flash hider and bipod.
If you have a local FFL order the gun you get a better price.

Just stick with the standard configuration. The steel handguards get hot when firing and the DSA long hider is not true to the original. Many 50.64's had the long flash hider replaced with the combo device when the long one banana-peeled. The bipod will fit with the synthetic handguards.
On the other hand: Build the rifle the way you want it, there is no standard configuration for the original FAL. |

i second the above...i am gonna build a rifle with a dsa type 2, dsa para lower and imbel front end....and i am gonna use the browning type flash hider as well....with the wait from dsa and the parts and kits available i would really look at going this route....and i am not building it but having it built...with the wait from dsa, if you look around and be patient you will find the parts and stuff you are looking for...
and get over to falfiles.com |
