I have a Belgian FAL, has anyone tried these drums in a FAL?
Found them for $280.00, no credit card fee and no shipping fee. Thinking about pulling the trigger on one. Mike |

Allied has a running thread on falfiles.com now. Been going on for a few months.
Drum Mag |

This has me drooling- have the minor issues been corrected already like the interference with the magwell? |

Quoted:
If they can make a drum mag that feeds flawlessly in a FAL, how come no one can make reliable magazines? I have roughly 50 magazines so I haven't run rounds through them all, but all the ones I've used so far have all been perfectly reliable. Almost all are just surplus used ones. |

That's his point, no one seems to be able to make a reliable new production FAL mag. although RRA & DSA (and probably others) have been working on it for a while. |

I bought one of the FAL group buy
Works great after a slight fitting for mag catch variables http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/FAL_drum.jpg |

Thats just another waste of money God forbid a real SHTF situation ever happens but if it did, I sure like having 50 rounds on tap without a magazine change needing to be done. Also, it's a fun toy for those of us with full auto FALs. I don't think I'll buy more than the one but I sure like the product so far after getting it all fit to the guns. If there really was an SHTF where your life was in danger, you'd use what has been battle tested, not some plastic thing, bulky, heavy weight thing dangling from your rifle. Lets admit it, they look cool and thats about all they do. Just like that AR beta mag which I have and sits unused in my closet because I dont feel like lugging them to the range. |

Well actually it's a solid aluminium thing that's built like a tank, has had a couple hundred rounds through it now flawlessly and weight/capacity is good on a rifle when you're potentially doing burst. I absolutely admit to the cool factor but for ME, it is something I would turn to and use first with a whole bunch of suplus 20rd mags waiting to be next. I was hoping that Beta would release their FAL mag but it seems like after they released the M14/M1A mag they dropped interest in making it for other 7.62 rifles. A shame... oh well. Good shooting to you. |
