Any suggestions on what forward mounted scope I should use on my FAL.Thinking about an EOTECH but undecided on model.

I had better luck with an Aimpoint Comp M3 in ARMS 17 mount without a spacer because it sits about 3/8" lower than the Eotech.  (I prefer the Eothingy on my AR)

Lately, I'm using a 2-12x32 IOR scope on the FALs.....figured I might as well take advantage of the .308's range

Very nice. However Im going to use a forward rail mount on the FAL so I can still remove the stock dust cover.Im getting a railed handguard.

railed handguards on the FALs aren't exactly the most stable things ever made....you'll be seeing quite a bit of POI change every shot.....don't expect it to make head shots at 100 yds.  They're made for flashlights, bipods, VFGs....not optics.

My DSA is wearing DSA's rails.  When I hold the VFG, it flexes about 1/32" just from picking it up, and it won't get any tighter.

eta:  forward rail mount?  Maybe I'm just not understanding what you're talking about.....I don't know of any rails other than the DSA (and similar) dust cover rails and the DSA railed handguards.....is there something new on the market that I haven't seen yet?

I had an Eotech but it just didn't work for me on this rifle so I change it out for an Leupold 1.5X5. I really like this setup.

I agree that you'll probably need to run n optic from a dustcover rail system that can be bolted down to the receiver.

Optics on the fal forward rail systems aren't the most stable.

I run a POSP 6x42 WD on mine with a  RDP-II from Vic.

Good luck!

I use an Aimpoint on a LaRue Tactical Comp M2 RAS II Mount QD LT-152.  It works reasonably well.
