I have an FN49, in 8mm that sometimes has a failure to extract stoppage. I have shot surplus, surplus with reduced powder loads, current production ammo, and handloads with it. Doesn't seem to matter what I feed it, FTE's run about 40%. I have replaced the extractor. (the old one looked to be in good shape). There are no signs of over pressure on the case. Bore and chamber are shiny with no visible defects. (don't have a bore scope) Short of taking it to a gunsmith I'm at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |

Thanks guys. It's been awhile since I've messed with it and honestly can't remember if I tried to adjust the gas regulator or not. I plan on taking it out with me the next time I go out and I will check it out. The bolt does go to the rear. The empty case does seem to fit snugly into the chamber so I don't think there's extra room there. I appreciate the suggestions. Thanks |
