| Anyone have an idea on how fast/slow they are? I sent an FNAR Mag in for repair a month ago and have heard nothing on it. It was a new mag that wouldn't feed the final round. I figured it was a spring issue and called for a replacement spring but was told to send it in. I called last week & left a message, but no call back. Is this normal? I've dealt with them on my PS90 and was impressed with the service I received. |
| I sent in 6 FNP-45 (Tactical) 15 round magazines in. FTF, jams, etc. When I called about the problem, they told me to send them all in they would be replaced. About 5-6 weeks later, I got 6 NITB magazines. No explanation as to what the problem was, if any. I'd like to know if it was my fault. They were disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with just a tad of lubricant in the follower. The magazines were new and babied until I tried to run them in a pistol class. Had to drop back to my Kimber DW. I could replicate on problem. A round would hang on the front of the magazine and not feed. Catastrophic jam too. Very hard to impossible to clear while doing a drill. Bob Ailes was my point of contact at FNH. I sent another email asking what the problem was. It seemed like feed lips were possibly bent jamming the rounds' mouths against the edge of the front of the magazines. Hopefully I'll find out. The one time I did talk to someone, he indicated that magazines were in short supply, hence my long wait. |
| We had a similar issue then. I spoke with Bob on my PS90 issue and as stated in the OP, I was very happy with the results, this time I spoke to someone else and communication wasn't so good. BUT, at my front door today was a new FNAR mag. I guess I should have waited an extra day before posting. Also like your situation, no explanation, just a box with a mag and a packing slip that said replacement. Oh well, I'm good now. |

It depends on what you need. I returned an SPR A3G, and they said they would replace it. About 8 months later I finally got the replacement, but they were kind enough to send me a really nice gift to say they were sorry it took so long. The second SPR A3G was also defective so needed to be replaced. This time, at 11 months, they still didn't have any A3G to send me. I felt that I had patient long enough (nearly a year) and accept a couple of other items just to get it over with.
I really liked Bob Ailes in customer service, but he doesn't make the rifles, so I understand no matter how desperately he would like to send me a replacement rifle, if the factory isn't giving him any, there is nothing he can do. I get the feeling that FN really doesn't care much about civilian sales, because the military is their bread and butter. So now I shop elsewhere. |
