Greetings,
I got to handle a PS90 recently and I thought it was a very interesting little rig. How accurate have you found them to be? Is 4" at 100 yards possible? There are several versions of the PS90 and it appears the Triple Rail version is the one I would be interested in. Can you get a cheekweld using the standard version or would a red dot be mounted too high? Please let me know what the quirks are on your PS90. Thanks, Cheese |

You should be able to get 4" groups at 100. More dependent on the shooter as the PS90 doesn't have the best trigger. I use an Aimpoint Micro on my TR to get the lowest possible offset/best cheekweld.
I'd recommend sending it off for Form 1 as soon as you buy it as it just isn't the same as it is SBR'd. |

The one I handled had an odd sight on it (I suppose I would call it a non-illuminated Eotech). My house has all sorts of combos in it, so a higher sight radius isn't the end of the world. My wife is a lefty with a right eye master eye. My daughter and I are both right handed/right eye master eye. My son is lefty and has a left eye master eye. We all came to consensus with the AR family as you can change it around to meet your needs. The ambi ejection/handling of the PS90 is attractive. I don't know diddly about the round the PS90 fires, but low recoil is a bonus. Is it feasibly reloadable or is that a road to frustration? Anyhoo, thanks for the response. |

The one you handled sounds like a Standard PS90/P90 sight equipped model. My Micro always comes up when I snap the gun up. I personally don't reload and given the finicky nature of the 5.7 would not do so. I noticed that the 5.7s are called "delayed blowback" by FN. I am confused about where the "delay" is. From what I could see I didn't see that the bolt was locked to a barrel extension nor did I see anything that would look like a gas system. Is there some kind of recoil based delay system? The fired case I examined looked like it would not be a peach to reload. If the rifle isn't truly locked breech I can't think that there wouldn't be a lot of case stretching and overall short case life. That said, the round is a neat wee thing. It reminds me of a .22 Hornet I had years ago. |

I don't find the round particularly difficult to reload. It does not lend itself to mass reloading like a .223 would, but in my single stage Co-Ax I can churn them out pretty good, the prep just takes more time. It may require a bit more attention to detail, as small changes in powder can have large effects, but still very do-able. I second the motion on the SBR, it's alot of fun, and very maneuverable that way. Here are some of the reloading options I have done. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3640/4563833931_9884197c86_b.jpg Some subsonics: http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4008/4580086416_05da43d62b_b.jpg Let me know if you have questions. Onyx Wow cool stuff! I'm curious about the performance of those. The Barnes TSX looks interesting. I haven't been interested in the PS90. Hmmmmmm |

Elite was getting just under 1700fps with those 53gr TSX, thouh I suspect the 45gr version might be better for this platform. Hope that helps! Onyx |

Onyx, those are really neat pics of your rounds. On one fired round I examined I noticed the case shoulder looked rounded, and I had assumed that was because it had moved/bulged out during obduration. Now, seeing your rounds it appears to me that the case didn't have a sharp shoulder on it in the first place. Is that correct? |

I have a PS90 SBR - I find it comfortable to shoot and I'm a bigger dude. Long arms and such. I don't shoulder it as much as hold it on my chest, in more of a combat handgun stance. I have the standard sight version. Shoots great, even with the 10'' bbl. Runs awesome with my Coastal .223 suppressor. Hands down, the most fun gun I own - out of a collection most would call a sh#t-ton of guns. Good luck. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff422/CBPO/2011-12-17172541.jpg If ya dont mind me asking, what is the OAL of your SBR? I've got an MSAR, but have a sick desire for something even shorter! (thats what she said) |

Popped on a PS90 today. Should be here in about a week. Now I need to find a " SBRing your PS90 for Dummies " book. Can I buy a barrel first ? Do the trust thing , or not ? Paying my tax stamp. Where to begin ? ![]() Not sure about your local laws and how friendly your local (Insert name of CLEO who can sign off a Form 1 for you) , but if you can, go that route. If not, then a Trust may be for you. You need to figure that out first now that you have already ordered a PS90. Once you get that gun in your hands, I would hold off on purchasing a short barrel for it until you get your Form 1 Approved, which is at least going to take 6 months or more after looking at the NFA thread a little while ago. Short barrel and the rifle stored at home at the same time, without a tax stamp, is a big No-No. DON't Do IT ! Go to the NFA section here and do some research. It contains pretty much everything you need to know to assist you in filling out a Form 1, and the other supporting documents you need to put together and send it off to the NFA Branch. Ask questions there. Make sure you know your local/state laws on SBR's. Ask questions in the FL home town forum. There may be somebody locally who can help walk you through the process. I am currently waiting for my Form 1 to be approved for my PS90 I purchased last November. I have two other SBR's. Once you figure the first one out, the rest are easy. Good Luck. |
I walked over to a FN rep. to talk to him about the P90 at the Washoe County range, and he just handed it to me and said 'have fun'! He didn't know me at all. My impressions = like shooting a .22LR on steroids, and the absolute easiest to use MG I have ever fired. I said thanks for the mag load, complimented him on the weapon, and tried to act normally as I was creaming my pants at the time. What a rush.
