I just bought an FNH SCAR 16S from a fellow calgunner. I was examining it and found the bolt face has a slight chip. The finish is a different color than the rest of the bolt face. Is this normal? If this question has been asked, please point me in the right direction.

If the "chip" also goes to a lug it's not a chip, and all is well with your rifle.

That notch is so that the bolt catch more positively engages the bolt when it is held to the rear.  Normal.
