| Well I am looking for a new tactial shotgun and I am seriously looking at the FN SemiAuto and was hoping that I can get some feed back as to whether they are worth the money and if they are as reliable and shootable as all of the propaganda says they are.. I have looked at the Benellis but they seem to be a little out of my price range so I was looking for a little advice and feed back.. Thanks |
The ones I've seen have been going for $7-750. |

The FN SLP is probably the best buy in semi auto shotguns today. It is made like a tank. It is also one of the fastest -if not the fastest- semi auto shotgun. It comes with 2 gas cylinders for regular and light loads. Mine handles anything I have put into it flawlessly. Price wise you should be able to get one for less than $700 as kiotee said. |
Mind sharing what loads you are using? How light have you gone and still had the action cycle reliably? Thanks! |
Sure. I have shot Federal Tactial 2 3/4/" reduced recoil 00 buck and slugs no problem with the regular cylinder. I have also used bulk Walmart Federal #8 trap/skeet no problem with the light load cylinder. Never tried the trap/skeet load with regular cylinder in. |
One thing I have heard is that if you do not keep the gas piston clean and lubed you may have this issue. Also, you can use the light load piston if you have issues with the regular one. |
