Hey guys,

I am doing yet another transfer for an M16 this time.  I ordered some fingerprint cards from the ATF distribution center a few weeks ago but nothing has come in the mail.

I am a part time Police Officer and we have regular FBI print cards at the station.  Will those suffice for the NFA if I just write NFA in the reason slot or do I need to wait for the official ATF print cards?  They are exactly the same thing except the ATF NFA branch has their stamp on them.

Just dont want to waste time trying to get more cards if the ones we use at the PD will work.  But then again I dont want to waste time and use the wrong cards and get held up even longer than normal.

any advice would be great.  Thanks guys,

Rob

I'm no expert but the cards look the same only difference is the agency branch # you could try to white it out and put the proper ATF one in there

They will work fine as long as you change the ORI information to the correct information.

Maybe Tony K, could some how put this in the NFA FAQ section, about how to use other Finger Print cards and what information to use for the ORI?

Tehy are fine as long as they are FD-258's and the ORI is (I've used an Avery-Dennison label overtop of other ORI's before):

I called them and they said you could send them in with any ORI and they just put a label with their ORI over the orignal. Or they said I could put it on over it myself before I sent them in. I choose to just order them on line. I got them in under 2 weeks which was not a big deal since I was taking my time on other stuff. Just sent my stuff off today
