I took my FS2000 to the range for the first time today.  It only ran about 80%.  I tried a few of the rounds that didn’t fire a second time, not a single one worked.  All of the rounds that failed in the FS2000 worked just fine in my AR.

It could very well be ammo related.  I only had PMC Bronze today so I’ll have to try something else next time.

Has anybody else had trouble with light primer stikes?

I had this problem.

1. I removed the captive spring from around the firing pin and have since ran about 2000 rounds of various milsurp through the FS2000 without any failures to detonate other than plain dud rounds.

In attempting to cure the FS2000 of slamfiring commercial primers, FN went with both a captive spring and a lighter firing pin. This was overkill and resulted in a gun that would not reliably detonate some milsurp. By simply pulling the captive spring off the firing pin, you will have a firearm that works 100% with all milsurp rounds but will not slamfire.

I'll give that a shot.  Thanks for the help.

You can also call FN service, and have Bob Ailes send you a new trigger pack, which is their official solution to the problem.

I also found that you don't need to cut the spring - with some finagling you can get it off without distorting it or anything, so you can put it back on.

Is there any downside to taking the spring off?

You'll basically have an AR style, uncaptured firing pin, so you run the risk of slam fires with really sensitive primers. Never seen it happen though, and one guy at matches I know reloads for his AR with benchrest primers.

No longer the case homey. You got the sweet deal, cause now they want the rifle and they replace the hammer spring. AND if it has the safety sear they take it off and keep it.

As well as milsurp amo, I probably have several thousand rounds of commercial ammo through my FS2000 without a single slamfire.  This includes everything from Hornady, to Remington to Black Hills.

just another thing to try before you start sending things back and cutting springs etc...

make sure you have not over lubricated the gun. It seems to run best dry! It will do this if you have over lubricated.

No kidding! I got the trigger pack less than a month ago. Maybe I am better at sweet talking people

At yesterday's three gun match my FS lit all the CCI 41's I had problems with before, just prior to being slammed hard into a barricade or something and breaking the charging handle swively thing again

I would not run it totally dry though. The seven drops of CLP or whatever the official count is does qualify it as "dry" for most people though.
