I was wondering if anyone has a source for fancy stocks?  Some sort of wood laminate or carbon fibre, or...

Thanks,

Dan @ VOW (Voluteer Ordinance Works) was talking about doing a run of laminate stocks. I don't now if he ever got them done. He posts a lot at falfiles.com. You can find a link to him and contact info there.

He sells the Ironwood stock sets. Every so often he gets some with fancy wood. Also, DSA has some really pretty stock sets from Europe.

BLASPHEMY!

How the hell can you think about prettying up the world's greatest .308 battle rifle?  It is a club, an instrument of death... Not some fancy shmancy battle rifle wannabe like the M1A.  You want pretty wood, buy an M1A.  You want a battle rifle, get yourself some nice pebble grain synthetic... or maybe some Israeli wood because it looks bad ass, not pretty.

LAMINATE OR CARBON FIRE!

:-)  Yep, heck, I even am looking at getting it refinished so all the pieces are one color!  :-O

These guys do pretty work but they're out of stock on the FAL side.

And of course DSA always has a wide selection.

ccfoodog,
Just remember to stay away from the X-series.  The stock may look cool, bit it makes the rifle really brutal to fire.

Also, does anyone know it someone is making stg-58 direct replacement style sets (non-humped) in walnut? All I can find is the humped sets.

My DSA StG-58A with the buttstock from DSA's European walnut stock set, with my Springfield Armory SAR-48 Para with the handguards and pistol grip from the set.
