Posted this on the M14 Forums but figured you all might like to see it to.

I got a Burris Fastfire sight for a AR-15 based pistol and just for grins (it sits really low) I put it on my forward rail on my Scout, the rail is a M8 Ultimak mount.

The dam little thing Co-witnesses the irons perfectly!

It's a nice little sight to.

It's not really tac-cool, or as good as a full blown Aim point, but for the weight and size it's a nice addition.

I had an Aimpoint on it previously and never liked the feel of the rifle with it on, sat to high and was just heavy enough it bugged me, not to count that the Aimpoint got stolen to put on a n AR15 project I got going..

I left the Fastfire on my scout and had to order another for my pistol...

Ok got some pic's, crappy camera and it's hard to get a sight picture I'm not sure how guys do it.

My messy work bench with some other projects that are still on going.

Close up little fuzzy sorry.

Best front sight pic I could get.

Edit missed a pic.

Thank you!  I've been trying to decide what to put on my scout and I think this will be it.  I wanted something that sat fairly low so I could actually get some cheek weld there .  Cool!

If you wanted a more industrial mini red dot I think the Aimpoint Micro T-1 would sit as low as the FastFire does on that hand guard.

Thanks guys.

Gun shoots great, she has abought 700+- thru her. Haven't shot the Burris set up yet.

I looked hard and long at the Aim Point Macro but $500+ made me try the Fastfire first and I like it for the price.

Understood, the Micro ain't cheap.

The FastFire is solid - I had one set up on an AK - the on/off switch is a nice bonus with the Burris.

How long have you been running the M8 Ultimak? How do you like it?

I've been considering that course of action myself...

I was also debating getting an M1 carbine, one of the Ultimak mounts for it, and then throw an Aimpoint Micro on it with a QD lever. Talk about a handy little gun.

I'm thinking about a modified M8 rail on an M14K in a modified LAW483 synthetic E2 stock with a Micro T-1 if it will co-witness ... that's what I'm thinking
