It has been an arduous journey so far in pursuit of my Type 01 FFL.  I applied on 5/19.  App sent to IOI 7/20.  Interview 8/21.  Interview info sent to Licensing Center 8/27.
License:  Not yet!  To everyone in the process, it doesn't hurt to call the FFL licensing center and ask about the progress.  I called today and the receptionist looked my
application up and transferred me to the Regional Licensing Examiner.  She said she had the application, all was well, and she apologized for the wait.  The license was
issued today and my FFL number magically appeared in FFL EZcheck and I was assured it will be on the way tomorrow.  I hate to think how long it would have taken had
I not called atleast once a week to check progress.

I know other people's application process has gone much faster, but I will be happy to finally have it in my possession.  Been sitting on my hands as of late since the actual
license is the last piece of the puzzle.

Regards,
Mike

Of course, maybe I shouldn't count my chickens just yet!

So what was the interview like?  What are you planning on doing with your ffl?  (start a business?)

I will be a home based ffl.  I have a separate building with storage, etc.  The interview lasted about 2.5 hrs. was very low key but helpful.  The examiner has a very specific set of the regulations they cover in the interview along with the ATF forms such as the 4473, Multiple Sales, etc.
