This is for all of the pistol reloaders who take the time to fine tune their loads.

I usually do not fine tune my pistol loads. I work up a safe load and they are all "practice ammo accurate".

My question is what is the spread you are likely to see in group size at 15 or 25 yards. I am setting aside anything like keyholing because of too much crimp on a plated bullet and keeping the normal procedural items like OAL, charge weight, powder selection, etc. I am trying to determine if it is worth the trouble.

Also, in fine tuning, what do you find drives most of the spread? OAL? Charge weight?

Thanks

Thank you. Probably about time I got my pistol rounds dialed in. Have rifle down to .5 MOA.

Just a mediocre shooter and new to reloading so my groups are not very impressive. I just tested out my XTP loads with my glock 21. From 10 yards standing left to right is 6.0, 6.4 and 6.8gr of Win231

Last column lower is my plated loads that I found to group the best for me and the top right square was just consecutive taps so its a bit messy. Basically i find what groups the best for me and then try to fine tune my shooting abilities from there. I am sure I could tighten up my groups but I just am trying to find my own load data before starting to crank out more rounds to become more proficient
