When I tried to submit fingerprints for my Alaska CCW they got rejected because my thumb and pointer finger on my right hand were messed up. At the time I did not care because all it was good for was bypassing NICS and since I worked in a gun store I didnt have to worry about transfer fees. I have eczema and those two fingers are pretty much always messed up. I thought I remember reading somewhere about a medical type exemption for stuff like this. I wouldnt have any problem getting a doc to back it up. Is this possible? I will eventually be setting up a couple SBR's and would like some cans. I was thinking of doing this a opposed to a trust because some seem unsure of their future standing with the ATF. If it is the only option I guess I will go that way Thanks Guys This would also be useful when I get my NV CCW because they have a damn 25 dollar fee to do a background check here.

Go to CAS-Tech finger printing use to be on Tudor , may have moved. They use a digital scanner-no ink and they can get it to work. I have a couple prints gone because of scars and I have done about 30 forms or so. They will also know about the med form for th bad prints HTH Im assuming you get back to anchorage? |
I too have eczema and have had it for 20 years. My fingerprints are always messed up on several fingers whether I use ink or digital. I take the best prints I can get and attach a letter stating the reason why they look funny and also give them my doctors contact info if they want to verify. I have done this for 10 transfers over the last 15 years without an issue. HTH |
