Quoted: Just picked up my first Gen 3 unit, a PVS14. Got a deal on it since it was a 2011 vintage L3 tube with a couple blems. Just tried it out and it's pretty sweet. You can see a couple dark spots in the tube around the edges, but I don't think it's too bad at all. Came with a data sheet. How's it look?? Below 21 is "poor" Of concern was the data sheet that suggested an EBI of 5 was acceptable? 5 would be absolute crap ( Don't worry, your's was 0.5 ) And a high-light resolution of 12 lp/mm is also pretty disgusting. ( Again, yours was 51, quite acceptable ) L3 standards are slipping... No, that's more like a landslide.
It's relatively OK other than that - Slightly below average but within the acceptable range - Regards David |
| Truth is, if it looks good to your eyes then it looks good to your eyes. Numbers on a sheet don't mean much, what you see during different night environments is what matters. The SN isn't top of the class, but then again it does pass the minimum spec. Even the minimum spec looks darn good. If you paid a fair price for a few year old option, then you did good. |

If that minimum is on the spec sheet, the buyers must have known. |
