First to set the use of the weapon:
Ideally this would be a fun training gun and if SHTF - CQB to compliment my 16" 556. One day I would like to suppress but that will be down the road when I have some extra $$ Ammunition wise I will be reloading myself. Problem: So I have been reading and reading and reading and have come to a cross roads. I want to acquire a 9-10.5 .300 SBR. I started putting together a parts list to build and with some of the key items I want I can't seem to get the total price under $1400. Right now my lets call them "upgraded from standard" items are the Barrel (Rainier) and Billet upper/lower (Mega). Of course I have a few extra goodies like NiB BCG but even if I drop back to phosphate I am within 60 dollars. I would like to stay on the accurate side but don't need to have the most accurate gun out there. My question is this - Are there cheaper barrels in the 9-10.5 range that still maintain decent (would love to be sub 1.5 but will be happy with 2) accuracy at 100 yards? I know Aero Precision has a 10.5 complete with the upgraded upper/lower for like $795 and Midwest has a similar for $895. Would I be better off going this route? Just don't have much experience on the completes from either manufacturer Thanks in advance |
