I am looking to purchase my first suppressor. I can not decide between a Gemtech for a 9mm or an integral barrel suppressor for my Ruger MKII.

why do you want an integral for the mkii? just curious, i'd do a screw on suppressor for my first

I am "assuming" that it would be quieter.

If you want quiet get a steel thread on, the longer the better.

I'd go with a good thread on 22 silencer rather than an integral. Just more versatile. Also, the only integrals I REALLY like are the bolt action 22's.

My 22 silencer gets the most use. Next up, the 9mm. So those are good starters, but the 22 is the most fun.

Get a threaded upper for you Ruger and a stand alone .22 can like the SWR Spectre or Silencerco Sparrow.

This, I just got my Spectre and could not be any more pleased. I am already starting to look for the next can, probably the AAC 762 SD-N6 but have not rule out a trident or octane 9 either…

Be prepared though, it is addicting...
