Once fired LC brass.
1.755 case length
18.2 grains of IMR 4198
55gr hornady FMJ bullet
10 with crimp 10 without

Test gun 16 inch BCM midlength

Oh yeah preparing 500 rounds of once fired LC brass was a blast.

Welcome to the Reloading club.

Bet your loads shot better than generic ammo.

There are far better gunpowder choices than IMR 4198 for this cartridge.

I know you think you're saving money, but that's a poor way to save.  This particular gunpowder will drive you crazy while throwing from a measure, too.

good job, but start out with a range of powder charges from min to max, don't just pick one, even though it looks like you started on the low end, which is good, better than starting at the max load

I would have gone with TAC but the store was out.
If they don't work out the 4198 I can use for 308 loads.

Its a interesting hobby but time consuming with a single stage press.

Don't use 4198 for 308, you won't be very happy.

Use up the 4198 in 223 using 55 gr and lighter bullets.

I recommend Tac as a very useful, great measuring powder for 223.

Not trying to disagree about what powder is better but I had a Savage 223 110FP that I loaded with 19.5 grain of 4198. It shot dime sized groups at 150 yds. But I used a beam scale not a powder thrower. Worked great for me.
