Hey guys. I'm a first time .223 reloader for my RRA AR-15 (as well as my friends too..).   I'm not new to reloading and have done so for 1,000's of shotgun shells as well as for my 30-06 and .308 winchester with great success. I have not reloaded for a few years and recently purchased a Varmint EOP Rock River (1:8 twist/Wylde chamber). This gun shoots fantastic - way sub moa with HSM 55's and 69 Grain ammo.  I got to thinking I could REALLY tweak this thing with some custom loads, so I purchased some 223 dies and brushed the cobwebs off the RCBS. I've been saving my brass and have close to a thousand ready to go.  I just ordered a hundred Nosler ballistic tips and a hundred Hornady V-max in the 60 Grain variety to try and work up a hyper accurate load.

I guess what I'm asking is, if you guys have any tips, tricks or hints for the 223 reloadings or any pet loads that you prefer.  I've been looking here (on AR-15.com) for days and the info here is overwhelming.  56+ pages of reloading threads alone....
I have access to many reloading manuals, and I realize that working up a good load for MY gun is half the fun of the process, but experience as they say rules.  I have alot of IMR 4350 and 4064 (for the -06 and ,308 as well as some W748.  My Father in law is a benchrest guy (hardcore too,,..) and he loads exclusively with Vitahvouri (sp??) N335 or 355 so I have access to 50 pounds of that (yes....50+POUNDS) So any words of wisdom for a new Black Rifle guy?

I shoot Nosler 55gr with 25 GR of h335. Can't beat it for powder funnel accuracy. Good velocity and accuracy to 500 yds in my RRA 16 with a ACOG TA 31f...........Jim

Ball powder is the easist to load (W-748), the other two powders you list are too slow for 223.

Try Varget to start, it is very accurate in 223 and 308.

Send two fired cases (same headstamp) to Lee Precision and have them make you a custom FL sizer.  Then FL sizer every piece of brass you intend to shoot out of that gun and have a good time doing it.
