My powder is cFE pistol. The start load is 3.7 BUT uses a different primer than I have in house.
How should I proceed? Try to find cci500 primers or assume winchesters are just as good and move forward? Thanks. |

The Winchesters will be fine. The primers are fairly close to the same. The loading books will test their loads with one primer brand rather using different brands with the same bullets. As long as your not at of over the max load you will be fine. Load them up good sir. |

OP: unless your pistol is a CZ75, you can probably load to a nice safe OAL of 1.140 to 1.150". I'd suggest that OAL as long as your gun's throat can handle it. He might have trouble with magazines if he goes that long. Glock mags will bind up if you have them out that far. |

I'm not having any issues with 1.145"-1.150" in my Glock (xtreme 147gr and 165gr round nose), but 1.165" was a complete no-go due to mag binding. |
| I have a little bit left of rounds I have loaded with MG 147's. I don't remember the OAL but I remember they were binding up in my mags and I ended up running some of them through the press a 2nd time to shorten the OAL. Ever since that I always stayed on the shorter side. |
