I have considered carrying a second knife on me when I work.
I currently carry my newly acquired Kershaw Shallot, I love it!
I was thinking about a fixed blade to carry in my boot.
I wear the 10" Rocky jump boots.
What says the hive? Recommend me a decent fixed blade or maybe a folder? Aam I barking up the wrong tree altogether?
Maybe my tin foil needs to be loosened?

RC-3 or RC-4.

RC-3 comes with a bootclip.

Second the RC-3.  Rat Cutlery is outstanding, and their warranty cannot be beaten.

I like www.twowolvesoutdoors.com for good pricing and fast shipping, but there are other good shops out there too.

I love Rat Cutlery and I own an Izula and my girlfriend has an RC3.  These r all great knives, but as a boot knife?  I dono.  the boot clip is more of a belt clip, and the RC3 is a little big for the boot in my opinion.  I owned a CRKT STING and sold it not to long ago because I had no use for a boot knife, just thought it looked cool.  This is a great boot knife, but I had no use for it.

I like the RAT knives, I just can't see it fitting in my boot?
How does the Gerber AZEK compare?

If you mean the lmf II ASEK it's a giant knife.  Not a boot knife.

You might look at a Cold Steel "Kobun".  Very thin profile, about a 4 inch tanto style blade and sharp as a razor.  Also inexpensive enough to not worry about it's loss.

It is a nice knife, I have two. Unfortunately it is discontinued, you can find them on ebay, but the prices are starting to creep up. Right now, one is up to $30, another $51 and some greedy bastard is trying to get $125 for one.

They sold new for $25.

Rat Cutlery has a LE/Mil only section.  My team and I are ordering the RC3 here next week with some engraving on it.
