I remember seeing a thread in here that showed a step by step instructions for filling out a Form 1 for a homemade supressor.

Does anyone know what happened to it?

Also, any tips would be greatly apreciated. I would like to get the paperwork underway so I can start building my supressor soon.

I was gonna link that one also but decided not to cause I couldn't find where he explains anything about FILLING OUT THE FORM 1

I'd also like to see a guide and get some questions answered about F1'ing a can.

like:

- Can I list a caliber like .30 or 9mm; but intend to use it for a variety of calibers?

- Can I list a dimensional length and them make it "modular" so that it can be shorter or longer depending on the host and application?

- Can I repair any part of it or make a new one with the same serial # if I break it?

and a few others I can't remember right now...    anyone?  what say you?

cheers, Benji

Yes, this is done all the time. (.223 through a .308 can)

You may not have extra baffles lying around and if you had some kind of two-piece tube, when you seperated them, you would have parts for another suppressor, a no-no.

You can repair it, but you may not have parts lying around. NO extra baffles or end-caps. If the tube is destroyed, you have to make a new one, with a new Form 1. Olympic Arms was making replacement M16 lowers for people with old ones using the same serial #and destroying the original. The ATF put a stop to this. I know that is MG's but I believe the principle still applies.
