So I recently filed my first suppressor Form 1.
What "Model" suppressors have you made? Anything silly, funny, serious? I can never think of cool names and not very creative. I didn't want to copy Thompson and use the "Wasp" name, so I went with "Honey Bee" Yes, I will have a Honey Bee .22LR suppressor.
What's yours?! |

Leave it blank, it will go into a exception (?) status which will add a day or two but then you don't have to engrave a model number. I eFiled at 3:30am this morning, went pending research, and then I got the "changed status to Submitted" only 2 hours later at 5:30am.
It has to be engraved anyways, so I'll go ahead and add a name to it. |

Model is always shows as "if designated" in the statutes. Can't you just skip it and only engrave name/location/SN/caliber? (I don't know...never built a Form 1 can)
If I was doing it, and wanted a model, I'd consider some basic like "suppressor" or "silencer". That way you could engrave "22LR suppressor" or "9mm silencer" and have both model and caliber covered. |

I hope you have at least one of them on a build using an Aero Precision PEW lower!! http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx151/thegreghorton/Mobile%20Uploads/28DA5D83-E474-46D3-B567-4F54381F979E_zpsehbewhjs.jpg Quoted:

No, but I must now make this happen -Mike When I saw them, I had to buy one. Wasn't even planning on building anything out of it. It's now a 7" 9mm SBR. Primary Arms has some in stock now if you want one. It's one of my three favorite lowers...along with one from Zombie Defense that has Safe/Fire/Frenzy, and a Jolly Roger from Spikes that has Parlay/Plunder/Arrr (it arrived at my FFL Monday, and I already filed the F1 when he sent me a pic to confirm the SN and model). |

Any reason the model name can't match the serial number? For instance, what if I wanted to build a 5.56 can. I could fill out the form with 5.56, use CAL-556 as the serial number, and use CAL-556 as the model number.
Then, I engrave CAL-556 one time and it covers SN, model and caliber markings. Not all of the lowers I used for my current SBRs had "titles" for each bit of info. So, the serial number was simply engraved, not SN: and then the number. Same with model and caliber, some just have the info. |

I only put one on there because I was amused by mine. -Mike |
