Well, Just my luck but my latest form 4 for an AOW went to problem status on 4/17. I found this out a couple of days ago when I called to check on the status. This is for a 20ga pistol that my dad bought new in the late 60's and is passing down to me. I don't know much at this time, but I did talk to the examiner and she said she would call me back. I think the problem is that the original paperwork may have listed this as a short barreled shotgun instead of the proper AOW. Not sure if that was the proper description in the late 60's but its not now. Just wondering what you guys think and any suggestions on my next step. I'm hoping she is going to do the right thing and approve my form 4, but I guess it's out of my hands.
Thanks, Big44maghunter |

You should have used Form 5, not a Form 4 |

Talk to the examiner. They WILL NOT approve this if SBS are illegal in your state. They will tell you how to destroy it.[/quote] Curious why you say this. As I previously stated the gun is an aow, just mis-registered previously as a sbs. Do you have first hand knowledge on this type of scenario? Thanks |

Thanks If its registered as an sbs, whether intentional or not, it is an sbs and I'm fairly certain can no longer be made an AOW. But since they told you problem status and not denied you may have a chance, keep your fingers crossed! |
