I want a cheaper EDC folder knife. I spotted a Kershaw Leek assisted open for around $45 at walmart. Would this be an Ok choice? Or would you recommend somthing else? This is the leek im speaking of.. Let me know your thoughts please.................. http://www.knivesplus.com/KE-1660ST-Kershaw.HTML Heres another link to the same knife http://www.fernknives.com/kershaw/leek-serrated/598/index.html |
WTF? You threw it out? You should have sent it to people who know how to sharpen such things as knives. I would have paid for the postage for you to send it to me. |
Thanks guys, yea actually that blur caught my eye and I handled it as well. The leeks assisted opening actually seems smoother. The Blur doesnt have a blade lock like the leek, I think I would prefer the lock just because it is assiested opening and wouldnt want it opening up in my pocket.. Lets make this simple guys.. Here are the two in comparrison.. Kershaw Blur:: FEATURES: • Ambidextrous Thumbstud Folder Speed Assisted Opener • Blade Material: 440A Stainless Steel • Blade Style: Drop Point Tanto, Partially Serrated • Handle Material: Black Anodized Aluminum with Trac-Tec Grip Inserts • Locking Mechanism: Liner Lock • Carry Method: Pocket Clip Situated for Tip-Down • Includes Lanyard Hole MEASUREMENTS: • Blade Length: 3.375" • Handle Length: 4.5" • Overall Open Length: 7.75" • Weight: 4.3 oz. • Blade Length: 3.375" • Handle Length: 4.5" • Overall Open Length: 7.75" • Weight: 4.3 oz. Blade Shape: Partially serrated Blade Steel: 440A Stainless-Steel w/ 55-57 Rockwell rating Clip: Removable/reversible pocket clip Handle Material: Bead-blasted, 410 Stainless-Steel Knife Type: Folding Length Closed: 4 in. Get a benchmade griptilian or mini grip. A little more money, but its a much better knife using way better blade steel and a more user friendly as well as stronger locking mechanism. I have a leek, its allright, kinda small unless you have little kid hands, but the benchmade blows it away. http://www.gpknives.com/item/benchmade-mini-griptilian-mdp.html |

I love the leek design, but of what they have available at Wal-Mart, you can't beat the Spyderco Native in S30V. Far better steal than anything else they sell that I know of. If you are definatly set on the Leek design, personally I'd spend a bit more and find one of the S30V Leeks with G10 handles online. |
That Benchmade looks sweet, I thnk ill go with that.. |
+1 The Spyderco Native in S30v is a bargain for $39.00 |
