Picked this up a little while back off a local Facebook page.  This little rifle is beautiful, has nice sharp stock lines and just a few small rust spots I'll get cleaned up.  The only downside - some buffoon removed the rear sight in favor of a scope mount.  But at least they didnt drill it, I've just gotta scrounge around for a rear sight, and parts for these things seem impossible to find.  So if anyone has leads on parts I'm all ears.

And no, I'm not intentionally advertising Rotella motor oil, the box was handy at the moment and the yard is a mud hole

Too bad you didn't get the scope mount.  May you always have perfect eyes.

They are beautiful rifles, the size of the bolt for a .22 is amazing.  It's the most accurate .22 I have.

I got mine about 20 or so years ago, in paper soaked with cosmoline.  I could kick myself in the ass for losing the front sight hood, it's impossible to find another.

I don't understand why someone would take off the rear sight, it's a thing of beauty with elevation marking out to 150 yds. or perhaps meters.

ETA  I was on rimfire central and someone mentioned that this company in France might be of help in finding a sight leaf for an mas 45, so you want to drop them a line and see if they can help.  http://tecmagex.com/en/index.htm

Here's another one in France that might help, don't call unless you can speak french, but an email will work. http://www.armurerie-douillet.com/

Actually I did get the scope mount, and I may end up with it back on there, but at the moment I dont have any extra glass laying around so I just took the base off for the time being.

Hang on to it.  Might post pics so someone else w/ this rifle can order one or make one.
