Who makes a front sight post with a raised, 3 point crown on the left side near the gas tube pin hole?

Is it cast or forged?

Forged.

In general, if you see that "UP" and the <- "arrow" are stamped into the fsb, the part is forged.

If the "UP" and "arrow" are raised casting, then the fsb is cast.
