I need to get my M77/357 threaded soon. I need to make up my mind if it is worth
getting the front sight reinstalled or not. I saw pictures with barrels cut to 16" and the band front sight install.
Do they need to buy a new sight or can the old band sight be reuse? Can another type of front sight be used(enough metal on barrel)?
Or just don't get a front sight.

I'm looking at having the same thing done. After looking at pictures I think they just thread the old sight and screw it on. I like the idea of having the sight bit its not like my rifle will never have the scope  on it.
