the reason i ask is because i got someone selling one w/ the (FULL-AUTO) "perk" and yes i've seen it fire in full in person.. just wondering if all FAL's have that option..

Unless he has ATF tax stamps on it run far away.  Check out the Class III section to find out all the requirements for transferring a legal and legitimate machine gun.  Otherwise both of you better enjoy 10 years as a guest of Uncle Sugar.

It's possible that it is a "G" series FAL that someone has dropped a full-auto selector into.

Check the serial number and have the "happy" parts removed.

If it is a "G" series, it's quite valuable.

That list says it all. The selector lever must be staked so that it does not go to the A position which means thazt it can't go Rock N Roll at all. If he has seen it RNR then run, dont walk, away fast.

No, not all FAL's are full auto capable. There were 1,848 G series rifles imported then an extra 12 heavy barrels later that all had the sear cut receiver and full auto internals minus the sear and auto selector. Then there was a batch of Steyr imports that were also sear cut receivers, I believe 2000 of those, but the internals were semi auto only. As factory guns go those were the only ones. Now some have been legally made into full autos but again you're looking at $12K+ for one. Any other gun with no stamp that runs in auto is not kosher.

Yeah, but the ones with the selector are sure a blast to shoot!
I've had one for close to 20 yrs. Never used to shoot it much, but have changed that situation in the past 3 yrs.  Now I shoot it several times a year.
I like the trigger in mine, 2 rd bursts are a snap.  Also Very controllable on 3 & 4 rd bursts.  Takes a bit more concentration to do 5 or 6.
Overall it is a Very pleasant rifle to shoot - both semi & full!  I much prefer it to my M14 (a real one) which is a POS on FA, so I rarely shoot it!
