Which to get first
factory SIG 551A1 SBR Classic
around $1700 (rifle, sales tax, shipping) + $200 (tax) + $100 (transfer)
long wait for the gun
OR
title 1 converted USC (UMP conversion w/ 16" barrel)
do a form 1 SBR
$2100 (rifle, shipping, FFL transfer) + $200 (tax)
I can shoot the USC w/ 16" barrel while in the waiting period

one of these will be purchased in the next 3 months and the other will be next year

I'd get the SIG 551A1 just because it's a more substantial weapon and they're a dream to shoot, like an AK with no recoil. I registered a SIG 556 pistol as an SBR but ended up selling it because it had a lot of upper/lower play that began to agg me and I didn't like that there was no solution for a folding stock other than the ACE folder. If I had known the 551A1 lowers were coming out I would have kept it. The new ones seem a lot tighter than the one I had.
