A friend of mine wants to sell this G43 to me for $2,000 (not going to happen), but I am interested in the value of the G43.

The bore is very good, well defined rifling.
Missing front sight hood
Missing cleaning rod
SN# 7XXX
Owners manual and oiler in buttstock.

Boy, start bombing somebody's industrial base, and look how gone-to-crap their machining gets...

Amazing that such a carefully engineered rifle ends up looking so damn rough.

This one is up to $5500 on Gunbroker - it will sell.

Granted it is in much better condition though the wood is mismatched - that may be authaentic for late war production.

I know there aren't that many in existence.

Need more details:

All I can tell is your G43 is late war; no bolt hold open.

I see a 359 Stamp on the bolt cover.

1. Before or after the serial number is there a prefix such as: AC, QVE, DUV or something else?
2. Is there a 359 stamp on the left side of the sight?  (Can you find a 214 stamp anywhere?)
3. Inside and out... are all the parts etched with the last of the serial number?
4. Any of the parts have cracks?

The price range is anywhere from $1,500 (parts gun) to $6k.
