Has anyone here replaced the sights on their GSG 1911 yet (.22LR)?
If so, what was used to replace the sights? What sort of fitting was required? What sight models/measurements work. And finally, once the swap was complete, did the gun shoot to point of aim? I am having the issue where the medium sight included with the GSG shoots too high and the tall sight shoots too low (I prefer to shoot between 20'-30'). Thanks in advance, ~Icarus |

what kind of ammo are you using?
it sounds really odd, but i was shooting high about 2" with AE ammo w/ the Medium sight. but when i switched to Remington Golden Bullets, i was right on. i just switched ammo. figured the AE was still rising even at 25ft. i typically shoot between 15ft and 25ft at the range (short range) and i've been good w/ the Med. sight. |

I'm using CCI minimags and Federal Bulk pack. Both shot about 1.5" to 2" high between 20'-30' with the medium sight. I used a mag full of remington, but it was all over the place as far accuracy went, so I couldn't tell where it was grouping.
I thought about filing the tall sight, but, I don't want to screw up the three dot system. There isn't much room above the dot, and since I have to completely cover my target with the front sight dot, I think I'd have to file it down about half-way through the dot to make it work the way I'd like. ~Icarus |

Painting a dot is easy, painting a Picasso is not!
