Does anyone know exactly when the GSG-5PK is coming out? Its the mp5k version of GSG and it looks pretty good |

You can take a look at page 1 and page 3 in this thread:

I sent the importer an email this weekend asking if they would update us here on AR15.com Guess what just arrived at our warehouse yesterday? Our first shipment of GSG-5PK's are being scanned and loaded up to go out to our distributors as I type. They should be on their way within the next 24-48 hours. From there they will obviously be sent out from distributors to dealers - I don't have a timeframe on that phase but it's a safe bet you will start to see these hitting "shelves" by the end of next week. On a side note we launched a new version of our website today that has more technical information on the guns, as well as a link to our own Flickr account - there you can see and download high res images of all the GSG models for a visual comparison. Any update on these? Are they NY compliant as a pistol? And any idea when they'll be available? They are NOT currently NY compliant. The guys over at German Sport Guns are hard at work on creating a second model that will be NY compliant. We had a meeting about this about a month ago and have come up with a pretty solid design, and should be getting a prototype model soon. Unfortunately for now the first shipment of these that just came in won't be available in New York or California. |

Is it due to the weight being too much for a pistol? Thanks again! Hope to be able to buy a NY compliant one eventually. They look awesome. |

Here in NY the problem seems to be that having both the magazine forward of the trigger and the shielded grip in front of the magazine is what causes the problem - you are not supposed to have anything you can hold on to in front of the magazine. So for the NY model the grip in front of the gun is being replaced by something that's... well... not a grip. I can't really say anything else about it at this point since it's still in development. |

Dear Mr. ATI Guy, Are you going to roll out a rail system that can take a fore-grip for the 5PK? I'm going to get one of your models and am really leaning towards the 5PK. Thanks! P.S. Will the 5PK take the 22 round mags or only the small ones? Unless you turn your 5PK into a SBR you cannot add a vertical fore grip to a pistol |

Whats the earliest that we can see what the new model will look like. A fixed magazine will fix all the problems. |

I can't really say anything else about it at this point since it's still in development. a semiautomatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following characteristics: (i) an ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (ii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer; (iii) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (iv) a manufactured weight of fifty ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; Looks like they have their work cut out for them. Not just a fixed barrel shroud issue but also; Pistol weight of less than 50oz. (GSG-5PK weighs 5.2lbs=83.2oz.) Threaded barrel with flash suppressor And mag outside the grip that can be used as a grip. |

I will let you guys know as soon as we get more information. |

By adding a front mounted grip and making this registered as AOW (pistol with a front mounted grip), would that bypass the NY restrictions? AOW's are legal in NY (odd, right?) Just curious if that would be a quick fix to making these NY compliant. Even if GSG doesn't add the front grip, if a Class III dealer did and registered it, then transferred it to an individual. Would that work? Or would I (being a NY resident) be able to buy a transfered AOW that someone else made? |
