The CAI models are likely the only ones you'll come across. Expect non-CAI examples of either caliber to have four digit price tags. AFAIK, CAI does not make a 7.62 model.

No that is not true
You will run into besides the original IMI, Springfield sporter versions, Ohio rapid fire made, and parts guns made by pretty much anyone on a ohio rapid fire reciever, CAI built on ohio rapid fire recievers, and current CAI galil which are not built on ORF recievers. BTW, yes they are heavy but they balance well enough that I cannot tell that it is heavier than my M4 clone |
