While i am waiting on my stamp i am planning my upper i will be using. It will be an 18in barrel spr/ precision, so my question is would there be any benifit to a rifle length gas system over a mid length gas system?  I will most likely get an adjustable gas block but thought if i am already buying all the parts i might as well do the best i can to make it work right the first time. Thanks, KC

Long as possible with adjustable block tuned to the desired gas.

rifle length will definitely keep the gas in your face to a minimum. I'm a lefty, and shooting just a 16" middie suppressed isn't that bad for me. but adding an adjustible block will certainly soften the impulse and keep the gas out of your face.

Well that's encouraging that I am on the right track, so rifle length, adjustable gas block, and bcm charging handle should all help thanks for the help.  KC

I have the 17.3" MicroMOA (federssen) rifle length with a Govnah. Although I have just started putting it through its paces, so far it's awesome.

Just wanted to mention that we initially did the 16 and 17.3 rifle gas barrels upon request of 3 gun shooters for the smoother recoil impulse.

Rifle length gas is a dream to shoot suppressed...especially with the gas port optimized.

We port the barrels of the 17.3's at .093" to handle most buffer/spring/ammo combinations.

.082 is optimal which is what works for most BCG's and the JP SCS buffer/spring assembly.

.063" for suppressed.

Good luck with your build.
