Has anybody ever tried to lighten a geissele trigger? I have the SSA trigger and would like to lighten the trigger pull. I dont have the money for a new trigger so Im looking for other options if possible. I think If I could drop another pound overall, it would be perfect for me.

Sell it and buy the SSA-E.

My SSA-E's are ~ 1/2 pound lighter than my SSA's, on average.

I would still have to come up with 120 bucks, I would like to find a cheaper option. I guess I may have to just save some pennies.

I replaced the disconnect spring with one out of a single stage mil-spec trigger.

And what did that get you?

OK I replaced the disconnector spring with the one from my OE trigger. Now the trigger feels perfect. Thanks

Geissele states you can bend the trigger spring to lighten the preload on the first stage, but don't over do it or you'll have reset problems.  The second stage release pressure is mostly dependent on the disconnect spring.  Do not lessen the hammer spring tension.  I've done four SSA triggers this way and have an excellent all around trigger.

Yeah these triggers are in demand, you should be able to sell it pretty easy. Round count?

Like I said in my last post, I replaced the disconnector spring with the one from my OE trigger as suggested by hdbiker1 . This made the second stage lighter. I had sent an e-mail to Geissele and actually got a response from the man himself.  He actually countered what one of his other guys had told me. Their responses are below. I told them that I use my gun for 3 gun matches. Stan responded first, then Bill.

Bill Geissele:
If you are moving with the weapon loaded do not decrease the first stage by more than .5lb or so.

Stan Fanelli (Also from Geissele):
You can adjust the first stage by bending the trigger spring but the second stage is not adjustable.  When bending the spring bend both legs and bend them at close to the coil as you can.  If you have any other questions please feel free to call or email us.

All very good information.

Thanks for the thread.

Well I took it out to the range and it shot great. I used my buddies trigger pull meter and it averaged out to 3.06 lbs I just hope it stays reliable. I wonder if this is the trick to the SSA-E trigger? Thank you hdbiker1 for the idea.
