I'd like to see their dealer margins. It seems (besides those $295 treks) you never seem routine sales on Gemtech cans like you do with SiCO Quoted:

I like my G5 and HVT-QM, what I did not like about gemtech was not being able to get items on time. I'd like to see their dealer margins. It seems (besides those $295 treks) you never seem routine sales on Gemtech cans like you do with SiCO Me too. Now that surefire cans are less than many gemtech rifle cans now, my G5 I bought in 2009 was $725 with the vortex mount. |

I've got a gm22 and Multimount and love both of them. Hope this is for the good but we've seen this happen before and not turn out so good. |
Hell, if this is going to turn into an open letter to the new ownership ![]() 1) Deliver products quickly after they are announced. We waited forever to see the G-core lineup come out. I'm was waiting to see the QDA-22 materialize but finally went with a Checkmate QD. Hopefully the multi-cell pouch is soon coming as well. 2) Stop creating artificial exclusivity. You had a winner in the Mist but chose to introduce it as some limited edition Lipsey's special. My dealer doesn't deal with Lipsey's so you lost out on a customer when they were first came to market. Special edition Ti Outback that was only available at Shot? C'mon.... 3) Your IOU pricing structure sucks. You can't tell me it takes the same out of effort to cut out a sealed Outback with a boring bar as it does to slide the stack out of my Alpine and screw in a new monocore. I shouldn't be subsidizing the additional labor in retrofitting older generation cans. |

I have sent a copy of them to Ron Martinez and Mark Thompson so they are aware. The product delivery is something we are taking a very serious look at, as stated in the video, Mr. Martinez is expanding our manufacturing to better support the demand. The exclusive with the MIST was a good choice for us because we weren't sure how the product would be perceived. Lipsey's really helped us with that and now that the product has matured it has opened up to all distributors. The IOU program is something I have brought up but I do not have any information about a change. For everyone else on this thread, I will bring your suggestions up to our new owners as I get them. I'd love to have Gemtech products, but pricing is a concern for me.
I can get a Silencerco Omega and two muzzle attachment devices (and a shirt or pouch) for hundreds less than a Gemtech one with NO muzzle devices. I can't even find an in-stock Gemtech quickmount device for less than $100. |

I've wanted to buy a Gemtech can in the past, but always ran into one of two things:
1. The Gemtech silencer wasn't competitive with other cans I looked at regarding length, weight, or feature set. 2. The Gemtech silencer was competitive with other cans, but it was way more expensive than the competition. If you can make a competitive can for a competitive price, then you'll be competitive with the competition.
Gemtech has also been the only company that makes really badass niche cans, like the Mossad, Viper, and MK9K. Those cans should be kept up-to-date (materials and baffle design, weight, etc.) and actually available for purchase. |

I'm a new dealer. We ordered a GM9 in November. The s/n has not even been assigned yet to start the ATF paperwork. You can have a great product, but if you cannot get them out the door..... In-Stock at several distributors. In the past few years, the distribution model has changed. Most MFGs are now selling to distributors, and not dealer direct. In most cases you can still buy direct, but you are gonna wait. So it is a tradeoff between waiting and paying middleman markup. |

For some reason I just can NOT get excited over this. Over the past year I have been really disappointed in Gemtech. They came out with a new line of QD mounts but they do not seem to have ever been in stock. They have ignored posts here about such issues when they use to be very responsive on the industry forum. Their current pistol line sucks compared to other new releases from other companies.
I think the future holds more of the same....high prices for items being out performed by other cans. But maybe time will prove me wrong. And I own 5 Gemtech suppressors. |
