Has anyone found or designed something for the 1/2 X 28 thread mount cans that enables you to mount your supressor without having to wrench off your F/H?  I noticed the Jet supressor's design but it's like 5/8 X 28, besides that, the end of the F/H would jam against the first baffle.
I'm sick of the tedium involved in this.  I should've bought a QD model.    And yes, I contacted Gem-Tech and asked if they could modify it but they said I was S.O.L.

For the smart-aleks: I HAVE heard of a thread protector, I want to keep the F/H though.

I'm pretty sure I'm , but figured it was worth a shot.

My suggestion would be to leave it attached, but most likely you have a full length barrel, so putting it in  a case is a problem.

My other suggestion would be to SBR your AR15, then you could leave it attached, and retain the 16" overall length of the barrel.  It's way cheaper than buying another can.

I know how you feel.  I want to get a .22lr suppressor to use on my AR when I shoot it with the .22lr conversion...but I don't want to wrench off my FH that my HALO attaches to just to use the .22lr.  I also don't want to shoot .22lr through my HALO.

You know, if you fire .22lr through a 5.56 can, it will "clean" itself once you fire another 100 rds. of 5.56.  That's what Kelly @ Gem-Tech told me, FWIW.

Unfortunately, two of them are already SBR'd.  I've got a 14.5 Afghan and 10.5 comando.  I really want the versatility of SBR w/ QD can.  I guess this thread is really just me venting since not even the can's manufacturer/designer can do anything for me.  Boo-Hoo!  I'm going to the garden!
